At the heart of Durango Mountain Resort, Purgatory Village offers just about everything you'll need on your visit to the Rockies. When you visit the resort this season you may notice a few changes. Some buildings you may have seen before are gone, and in their place are new buildings. This is the beginning of a very exciting time at Purgatory—a part of our 20-year Master Plan that will offer a variety of lifestyle, recreational, and residential opportunities at the base of one of Colorado’s premier alpine resorts. New Purgatory Lodge
The first phase of the new Purgatory Lodge is now open. This beautifully designed facility incorporates a strong use of stone, heavy timber, gabled roofs and balcony rail accents—all honoring the surrounding beauty of the mountains. Using Nature as our guide, we have favored the design with lovely earthen-tone colors and textures throughout. And, we have re-oriented the entire structure so that arriving guests will have a clear view to the majesty of Purgatory and trails.
Village Re-Development
We have thoughtfully and with great care woven in new construction, creating a special space in which to enjoy this slopeside mountain village’s bustling retail, dining, music and more. All the while, we remain sensitive to the natural surrounding beauty. Our new arrival court is now on the same level as the plaza, making it easy to unload gear and kids and head to the new ticket office. The new Purgatory Lodge, our 130,000 square-foot development just steps from the Village Express Chairlift, featuring:
